Service as County Clerk

As County Clerk, she has worked to improve access to the county clerk’s public records by digitalizing the records and has improved customer service by offering online access and credit card payments. Under her leadership she was one of the first counties in Texas to implement the Texas Electronic Registrar (TER) Birth and Death System, an online system that increases the accuracy timeliness and efficiency of the death and birth registration process.

In 2006, she implemented new election equipment in all county precincts, as well as, the cities and school districts within the county.  Allison actively participates in the County & District Clerks’ Association (CDCAT).  She has served on the Legislative and Education Committees and served as co-chair for the Legislative Committee.  She has served four years as a Director for Region VI of CDCAT.  She has participated in various conferences and area meetings as a speaker and panelist.  Allison has presented testimony before the legislature on Election Issues about the voting issues rural citizens face.  Allison especially enjoys researching issues as a member of the legislative committee.

In 2010 and 2011 she was nominated County Clerk of the Year to represent Region VI and in 2011 was voted County Clerk of the Year for the State of Texas. 

Allison currently serves as a Board Member of the Deep East Texas Council of Governments.  She served as the Alzheimer’s’ Walk Chair for five years and has been active in Band Boosters and Athletic Boosters organizations.
